2 found dead in fire at residence

A man and a woman died Tuesday evening in a house fire in an unincorporated area of south Los Angeles County, authorities said.

County fire officials found the bodies of a 48-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman in a bedroom of the single-family house near Budlong Avenue and West 117th Street, Inspector Tom Richards said.

The cause of the blaze was still under investigation. It was reported at 6:43 p.m. and extinguished in 22 minutes, Richards said.
