A woman was stabbed to death and another seriously injured in Pico Rivera on Friday in what authorities believe was a domestic dispute.

Responding to a report of a woman screaming just before 2 a.m., Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies found a woman lying in the 4700 block of Myrtle Street who was later pronounced dead at the scene, Deputy Maribel Rizo said. The second woman, who had been stabbed in the torso, was found a short distance away and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Deputies arrested the dead woman's boyfriend, Rizo said. The relationship between the suspect and the wounded woman was unclear.

Authorities declined to release the identities of the women or the man.
