3rd suspect in boy’s death to be arraigned
A third man accused in the death of a 12-year-old Hesperia boy shot in December on Interstate 15 is expected to be arraigned today after being extradited from Arizona, authorities said.
Prosecutors believe that Saul Juarez, 19, was one of several men involved in the shooting of Gabriel Garcia as he rode in a friend’s car. According to court records, the friend told investigators that he had carried two illegal immigrants from Mexico to a drop-off point, where they were approached by men in a Ford. The men in the Ford chased Garcia’s vehicle down the freeway, where the shooting occurred.
Two other men – Pedro Escobedo, 43, and Luis Chavira Jr., 23 – have pleaded not guilty in the case.
