2 accused of plot against Americans

Two men were charged with plotting attacks against Americans living in Jordan.

Prosecutors indicted Mohammed Shehada, 25, a Jordanian, and Sameeh Hotari, 25, who was born in Kuwait, on charges of conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks and possession of an automatic weapon.

Prosecutors said the two had aimed to avenge Muslims "who suffer from the Americans," and had planned to kill an American man who lived in a suburb of Amman, Jordan's capital.
