Support the police

Re "Ruling in teen's killing spurs outcry," Jan. 11

And the city of Los Angeles cannot recruit enough people to become police officers? What fool would want to work for a city that does not back its officers?

The officer who shot Devin Brown had a split second to make his decision. I'm tired of a mayor that throws "dog and phony" shows pretending to back the Los Angeles Police Department. Councilman Greig Smith has it right: It is the Police Commission that erred in this matter.

Prospective police recruits, stay away. There are many other cities that need good officers that will back you.
