A Web of deceit?

January 31, 2007

Re "2008 candidates, foes rush to roll Web video," Jan. 29

This article caught my attention. Anyone who has had dealings with the Internet knows that you believe very little of what you see or receive. Blogs, sites, chats, etc. are all personal opinions and are easily manipulated and falsified. Even running the "fact" or claim through something like the Snopes or Urban Legends filters does not guarantee you are seeing a factual event or a true quote by the subject under scrutiny.

I certainly hope that as this truly sad way to get news grows larger and larger, readers or users keep in mind that these sites are preaching to the choir and not offering necessarily true or accurate statements or pictures.
