Heater's cord could be a hazard

About 1.2 million Lasko Ceramic Heaters, manufactured by Lasko Products Inc., were recalled because the heater's cord can overheat where it enters the base of the unit, which could pose a fire hazard. Lasko has received 28 reports of power cords failing, including six reports of minor property damage. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should contact Lasko to receive a free replacement. * About 68,000 Rockingham Deluxe lounge chairs, also sold as Vanderwall folding recliner chairs, imported by Bond Manufacturing Inc., were recalled because faulty support brackets and weak frames could cause the chairs to collapse or fall backward. The company has received 13 reports of chairs collapsing or falling and eight reports of injuries. For a refund, return the recliners to the place of purchase. * About 2,300 Play Wonder toy barbecue grills, manufactured by Schylling Associates Inc. and distributed by Target Corp., were recalled because the ashtray attached to the grill's legs could contain sharp edges, posing a laceration hazard. * About 2,700 Vivre Royale Pine Cone Candles, imported by Royal Products Inc., were recalled because the coating and beads on the candles' exteriors could catch fire.
