'Poolside Chic' Plus, Online

July 15, 2007

It's not every day that Yves St. Laurent holds a party at the Beverly Hills Hotel and calls for "poolside chic." And since this is a town that can get thrown by "dressy casual," there were a few don'ts -- from ratty jeans to heavy gowns.

But most of the crowd made the most of a chance to mix great taste with a taste of whimsy. Yuki Bouzari, left, dressed around a fabulous Modernist neckpiece, while Liz Goldwyn settled on something vintage, a green polka dot YSL sundress. Demi Moore and Kristen Bell were, of course, treated to first dibs on the resort collection, hot off the runway. And Nathan Turner didn't wear YSL at all, instead working a pair of swimming pool blue Lily Pulitzer trousers that were still perfectly appropriate.
