Labor talks are expected to resume today for more than 1,100 Orange County bus drivers after negotiations broke off last month.

At the request of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Superior Court judge imposed a 60-day cooling-off period to prevent the drivers from striking in May.

The Orange County Transportation Authority has offered an 8% pay raise over three years, but drivers want a 14% increase, arguing that wages have failed to keep up with increases in living expenses. The drivers' hourly wages currently range from $13.72 to $21.42.
