"Go Getta"

Young Jeezy featuring R. Kelly

Webster's defines a "go-getter" as "an enterprising and aggressive person who usually achieves personal ambitions." That seems to define Jeezy to a T. But what are his ambitions? "We live life on da edge like there's no tomorrow / They grind hard like there's no today." There's a lot of the "we" versus "them" in "Go Getta," the "them" being the rest of us poor saps who can't afford that new Lamborghini in the opening scene. But the car is just a one-scene prop, and the track is copped by Jeezy's associate Kelly, whose sonorous style again steals the spotlight. In this classic rap and R&B collabo, it's Kelly on the chorus that you remember.

"The Arcade Fire in Concert"

Arcade Fire

NPR offers an entire live concert of this Montreal band, originally broadcast Feb. 17. It unfolds majestically with all the members typically jumping through an array of instruments and veering between casual tonality and precise arrangements for strings and brass. A constant is the degree of emotional involvement, of the band and the audience, at every level. The version of "No Cars Go" from the upcoming album, "Neon Bible," is extremely affecting as the group sings of an ideal place located "between the click of the light and the start of the dream," where no cars go. This is a band that can inspire, pump the blood, shake the heart and make you believe in pop's potential.
