Motorola to cut 4,000 more jobs
Motorola Inc. said it would cut 4,000 jobs in addition to the 3,500 it announced earlier this year. The new cuts will help save an additional $600 million, the company said.
The company said it expected costs of $300 million, or 8 cents a share, in the remainder of this year tied to the latest cuts. The reductions represent about 6% of Motorola's total workforce at the end of 2006.
