IAMX: Disco redux

Take that, Panic! At the Disco: Chris Corner has bested you at your own foppish electropunk game. In his solo project, IAMX, the founding member of the Sneaker Pimps dresses like a robot Edwardian disco queen and plays a strand of blackhearted but club-happy electropop that sounds like he looks. Splitting the difference between Kompakt, Trent Reznor and early Roxy Music, Corner is obsessed with the seedy underbelly of urban nightlife. Anyone sick of this hipster-house revival will have a new punching bag (a grown man in sequin teardrops, in 2007?), but if you know Ableton Live, you can win over gothy club girls everywhere. 8 p.m. Sat., the El Rey Theatre. $16.
