Nashville 4, at Columbus 1: J.P. Dumont had two goals and an assist, and the Predators sent the Blue Jackets to their fourth straight loss. Nashville beat Columbus for the 10th consecutive time, and second time in three days.

at Philadelphia 3, N.Y. Islanders 2: Scottie Upshall scored twice to help the Flyers remain undefeated at home. The Flyers are 6-0 at the Wachovia Center and won at home against the Islanders for the second time this season after dropping all four games against New York in Philadelphia last season.

New Jersey 3, at Pittsburgh 2: The Devils' Patrik Elias picked an opportune time to end an 11-game slump without a goal, scoring with 5 1/2 minutes remaining to help lift New Jersey over the slumping Penguins.

Carolina 4, at Florida 3: Cory Stillman scored his second goal of the game with 1:06 left to lift Carolina to victory. Hurricanes forward Erik Cole was removed from the ice on a stretcher. The veteran is less than two years removed from a serious neck injury, but a CT scan was negative.

at San Jose 5, Phoenix 0: Joe Thornton and Devin Setoguchi scored two goals each and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 25 shots for his second shutout as the Sharks won consecutive home games for the first time this season.
