Councilman calls for withdrawal from Iraq

Councilman Bill Rosendahl introduced a resolution Wednesday that calls for an "immediate and complete" withdrawal of United States troops from Iraq.

Six council members seconded the resolution: Janice Hahn, Jose Huizar, Bernard C. Parks, Jan Perry, Ed Reyes and Herb Wesson. The resolution calls for redirecting money being spent on the war to domestic needs such as infrastructure and mass transit.

"This war has diverted funding that could improve the quality of life for Los Angeles residents," Rosendahl said in a statement.
