‘Poltergeist’ returns to its old haunt
It’s baaaack.
Or will be, on Oct. 4. To help promote its 25th anniversary release on DVD, the original “Poltergeist” film will be shown in movie theaters again for one night only.
The horror film, written and produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper, stars Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams as a suburban couple who experience paranormal activity in their home, leading to the disappearance of their young daughter.
The digitally remastered film will be screened in theaters and then released on DVD Oct. 9.
Among the cinemas scheduled to show it are the Century City 15 in L.A., the Downtown Disney 12 in Anaheim, the Irvine Spectrum 21 in Irvine, the Civic Center Stadium 16 in Simi Valley, the Riverside Plaza Stadium 16 in Riverside, the Promenade 16 in Woodland Hills and the Long Beach Stadium 26 in Long Beach.
