Weak argument

September 18, 2007

Re "Voting rights, achieved," Opinion, Sept. 15

Edward Blum is about as disingenuous as the Bush administration's Justice Department and its pursuit of voter fraud cases -- cases that seem, strangely, to target brown-skinned people and people tending to vote for the Democratic (not Democrat) Party.

Perhaps it is time to seriously consider letting the Voting Rights Act Section 5 expire. But Blum's argument is not the one to follow. Especially considering that he is a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and obviously a Republicon.
