Maryland 34, at No. 10 Rutgers 24: Backup quarterback Chris Turner led three second-half scoring drives, Keon Lattimore rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown and the defense held running back Ray Rice to 97 yards in 21 carries as the Terrapins upset the Scarlet Knights at Piscataway, N.J.

No. 24 Cincinnati 52, at San Diego State 23: Ben Mauk threw four touchdown passes in the second quarter, and the Bearcats (5-0) scored on six of their first seven possessions to rout the Aztecs (1-4).

at Miami (Ohio) 17, Syracuse 14: Cory Jones scored his first two career touchdowns as the RedHawks (2-3) ended a seven-game home losing streak with a win over the Orange (1-4) at Oxford.

at Connecticut 44, Akron 10: Andre Dixon ran for 116 yards and Tyvon Branch ran a kickoff back 97 yards for a touchdown to spark the Huskies (5-0) over the Zips (2-3) at East Hartford.
