Cherry Blossom Festival in Little Tokyo
SPRING BLOSSOMS
Celebrate the advent of spring the way the Japanese do, by honoring the delicate, short-blooming sakurai at the 7th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival of Southern California. One-man band Art Nakane headlines the festivities, which include a new stage dedicated to Hawaiian, Polynesian and Tahitian music. Also on the bill, a rich lineup of traditional dancers, taiko drummers and martial arts demonstrations as well as a kimono fashion show, a tea ceremony and a sizable arts-and-crafts area for children. 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m Sat., 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m, Sun. Little Tokyo, San Pedro Street between 1st and 3rd streets. Free. (626) 683-8243; cherryblossomfestivalsocal.org
