Turkish restaurant Doner G opens in Anaheim
TURKISH OASIS IN ANAHEIM
Depending on your orientation to the Mediterranean Sea, seasoned meat sliced from a turning spit is known as kebab, shawarma, gyro or its Turkish name, doner. It is also the hallmark dish of the newly opened Doner G in Anaheim. You may be wondering, what then, might Doner G mean? Owner Yalcin Aslan informs us: “When you add a G at the end, it means ’doner maker.’ ” Now we know where to find one – a useful thing since there seem to be few Turkish restaurants in Orange County. Doner G provides a tasty solution to this glaring shortage. 2139 E. Ball Road, (714) 956-0123; www.donerg.com
