Oki’s Dog: Food gone wild
FOOD GONE WILD
If you order an Oki’s Dog Burrito, your heart might emit a murmur of protest but your stomach will likely thank you. This wild beast of carnivorous fantasy is created when two hot dogs, a generous helping of pastrami, meaty chili (without beans) and cheese are rolled into a flour tortilla and presented to you for the paltry sum of $3.50. Shinji Agena, who has worked at Oki’s Dog for 26 years, says the stand sells nearly 100 a day. “I like it, but I’m Japanese and it’s too much meat for me,” he says. “When I make it for myself, I put vegetables with it.” 5056 W. Pico Blvd., (323) 938-4369
