Yogurt Farm: Mmm … fro-yo and sushi
DOWN ON THE FARM
A new store in the Naples section of Long Beach grabs drivers’ attention with a puzzling sign that reads: “sushi and yogurt.” Once inside the tiny Yogurt Farm, you learn that, no, they don’t serve a new pan-Asian fusion of sushi and frozen yogurt on the same plate. Instead, you make your own fro-yo at the self-service machines, add your toppings, put it on the scale and pay 29 cents an ounce. Separately, you can get made-to-order or pre-packaged sushi from this family-owned mini chain that began in Sherman Oaks with the popular Farm Boy (14107 Riverside Drive, [818] 501-5567) and recently opened another store in Palms (3101 Overland Ave., [310] 836-0707). Yogurt Farm also carries fresh flowers, produce, nuts, dried fruit and granola. 5662 E. 2nd St., (562) 856-8888
