My Maloof Rocker to try to make it three wins in a row

HORSE RACING / INSIDER TRADING

Coming off consecutive victories at Bay Meadows, the 3-year-old Benchmark filly will go in the seventh race at Santa Anita.

My Maloof Rocker, who needed to take another road trip to become a winner, will bid for her third victory in a row in the seventh race Thursday at Santa Anita.

Owned by Winfield Tuttle and trained by Adam Kitchingman, the 3-year-old Benchmark filly is coming off consecutive victories at Bay Meadows.

About five weeks removed from a nose loss at Turf Paradise in Arizona, My Maloof Rocker earned her maiden victory as the 7-5 favorite in a miler on the Bay Meadows turf, then stretched out to 1 1/16 miles and won again at 3-5.

A runner-up in her last start at Santa Anita (missing by a nose in a $32,000 maiden claimer on the main track on Feb. 1), My Maloof Rocker will cut back to about 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf in the $52,000 allowance restricted to California bred fillies. Martin Pedroza will ride.

The only member of the field with a victory on the Santa Anita turf course is Sterling Misty.

Trained by Lewis Cenicola for owner Marshall Boschetti, the gray daughter of Lit De Justice won by a head versus maidens as an 11-1 long-shot Dec. 29. No better than third in her last three starts, Sterling Misty will be reunited Thursday with jockey Mike Smith, who was aboard for her lone win.

Race of the day: Jacks Express, who has won two of his last four, goes for a new barn after a claim in the eighth race at Aqueduct. Stewart Elliott will ride the 6-year-old gelded son of Jules for Grosse Point Farm and trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. in the $50,000 starter handicap at 1 1/8 miles. Dutrow claimed Jacks Express for $25,000.

One for the road: Call Her Kelly will make her first start for a high percentage trainer and removes the blinkers in the fifth race at Bay Meadows. Chris Landeros, who rode a winner for the stable Monday, has the call on the 4-year-old Dixieland Brass filly for owner Howard Bunford and trainer Steve Miyadi in the $4,000 claimer at six furlongs. Call Her Kelly won a sprint without the blinkers earlier in her career at Hastings Park in Vancouver.

Exotically speaking: An early pick four using Call Aly, Gonging Wild and Deb's Mojo in the first, Joy's Comet and Made The Finals in the second, I Beat The Fire in the third and Brendolyn, Foxy Games and The King's Lass in the fourth.

Winners: (previous day/meet total): 4/186. Money:(previous day/meet total: $20.60/$1,159.40. Total money bet: $1,312.
