Richie Sambora charged with DUI
Prosecutors in Orange County, Calif., have charged Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.
The 48-year-old Sambora was pulled over by police in Laguna Beach on March 25 after his vehicle was allegedly swerving and straddling two lanes. The district attorney’s office says his blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit in California.
Two minor children and an adult woman were in the car with Sambora. The children were released to the woman’s custody. Their names haven’t been made public.
Sambora was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment May 7. He isn’t required to be present during the arraignment.
