Suspects sought in fatal El Monte stabbing
Sheriff’s deputies responding to a 911 call find the victim, who later died at a hospital. No arrests have been made.
Authorities are searching for suspects this morning in the fatal stabbing of a man at an El Monte bar.
Police responding to a 911 call found the man about 12:20 a.m. in the 10000 block of Garvey Avenue and investigators later assisted, according to Deputy Oscar Butao of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, a Latino believed to be about 41 years old whose name has not been released, was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center where he died about 12:30 a.m., according to county coroner’s records.
Butao could not say what business the man was found near, but coroner’s records list 10325 Garvey Ave., the site of the Halcon Bar & Cafe. Bar staff could not be reached by phone this morning.
No one else was injured and investigators had made no arrests this morning, Butao said.
