Authorities searched Thursday for three men, at least one of whom was armed, who hijacked a big rig loaded with electronics on the 710 Freeway on Thursday.

About 1:20 a.m., the driver of a Freightline truck was on the West Del Amo Boulevard onramp to the 710 when he saw a stalled vehicle in his path, said Officer Jackie Bezart, a spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department.

After he stopped, three men approached and ordered him out of the vehicle at gunpoint before driving off in the big rig, Bezart said.

The 54-foot rig has a tractor license plate of 7556776 and a trailer license plate of GT66777, Bezart said. Anyone with information is asked to call Long Beach police at (562) 435-6711.
