125-acre fire burns in rugged canyon

Crews aided by water-dropping aircraft on Sunday were battling a wildfire that burned 125 acres of brush in a rugged area of the Angeles National Forest west of Lancaster.

Authorities said the blaze, which was reported at 12:10 p.m., was 20% contained. The fire was centered in a canyon southwest of Green Valley, about 25 miles from Lancaster.

No structures were threatened and no injuries had been reported, authorities said. The cause of the blaze was unknown.
