The 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are still a month away but four winners were announced Monday in what the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences calls juried categories, for which there are no nominations, simply recognition of excellence.

Keith David, narrator of PBS' documentary series "The War," was awarded the Emmy for voice-over performance. He was honored in the same category in 2005 for the PBS documentary "Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson."

Costume designer Shanna Knecht and costume supervisor Elizabeth Tagg won for outstanding costumes for a variety/music program or a special, for their work on TBS' late-night show "Frank TV."

Emmys for individual achievement in animation were given to Ben Balistreri, a character designer on Cartoon Network's "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends," and Teresa Drilling, an animator on CBS' "Creature Comforts America."
