PCH reopened after sewage spill

After an overturned sewage tanker forced a closure of Pacific Coast Highway in both directions for several hours, all lanes are now open.

All lanes of the Pacific Coast Highway are now open after it was closed for several hours this morning when a sewage tanker overturned, spilling its contents onto the road, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol closed the highway in both directions shortly after the accident was reported at 4:43 a.m. near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line.

The scenic, coastal highway was reopened by about 7:30 a.m., said Caltrans spokeswoman Jeanne Bonfilio.
