LAPD searching for guardian of baby found on sidewalk
The infant, believed to be about 6 months old, was discovered near 25th Street and Broadway in South L.A.
Authorities are searching today for the guardian of a baby girl who was found crawling on a South Los Angeles sidewalk earlier this week.
The baby, who is Latina and believed to be about 6 months old, was found Monday near 25th Street and Broadway, and appeared "healthy and well cared for," police said. "We're guestimating how old the baby is," Officer Kate Lopez said. "We don't know how old it is."
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton Division took the child into custody; she is under the care of the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Beatriz Cid or Det. Margarita Sanders at (323) 846-6571. Both detectives speak Spanish.
