August 30, 2008|Grahame L. Jones

at New England, 4:30 PDT HDNet, FSN Prime Ticket

Site -- Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass.

Radio -- 570, 1330 (Spanish).

Records -- Galaxy 6-9-6, Revolution 11-6-4.

Record vs Revolution -- 0-1-0.

Update -- The Galaxy has nine games left in the regular season. It its last nine games, the Galaxy has gone 0-5-4 and has been outscored, 22-12. Conclusion? The next nine games will not be enough to salvage a playoff berth. But new Coach Bruce Arena lives in hope, and the return of David Beckham from his cameo role at the Beijing Olympics, the return of Landon Donovan from Guatemala and the arrival of Eddie Lewis have Arena believing that something can be salvaged from this wreck of a season. Gillette Stadium might not be the place to start. The Galaxy has never won a regular-season game there, going 0-5-1. Lewis likely will play and will at least give the Galaxy someone who knows how to cross the ball from the left, as Beckham does from the right. "There are things that need to be done to make this roster better," Arena said after losing to the Chicago Fire in his Galaxy debut. "There is no question about that, but you need to appreciate that it can't be done overnight." Another loss today would tie the Galaxy's longest winless streak of 0-8-2, set in 2006. New England is tied for the best record in MLS with the Columbus Crew.
