Clippers' Ricky Davis suspended by NBA
CLIPPERS FYI
The 6-foot-7 swingman gets a five-game penalty for violating the league's drug program.
The Clippers' Ricky Davis has been suspended for five games for violating the NBA's drug program, the league said Monday.
The NBA said Davis' suspension would begin the first game he is eligible and physically able to play. Davis has been out since Nov. 22 because of a sore left knee.
The suspension could cloud his future with the organization. Davis, 29, a 6-foot-7 swingman making $2.3 million this season, had been considered a disappointment before the knee injury sidelined him. In 13 games with the Clippers he has averaged 4.3 points.
It is thought that Davis won't be ready to come back from his knee injury until mid-January.
Davis signed with the Clippers as a free agent in July.
