Man found dead after calling friends to report being chased
A Lake Los Angeles man who had called friends to say he was being chased was found fatally wounded Sunday afternoon, authorities said today.
Friends and paramedics found Jeremy Mancera, 19, in the back seat of his car with gunshot wounds to his upper body at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 41700 block of 170th Street East, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ed Hernandez.
Mancera had told his friends he was being chased by three men in a brown truck, Hernandez said. Paramedics took him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, Hernandez said. Investigators have not arrested any suspects in connection with the shooting or recovered any weapons, he said.
