Rain expected in Southern California this week
Southern California is in for wet weather, with forecasters projecting up to 2 inches of rain throughout the week.
Drizzles will begin tonight and scattered rain will continue through the weekend due to low pressure systems coming out of the Gulf of Alaska, said weather specialist Stuart Seto with the National Weather Service.
“We may get rain for a period, then we may get a break as the disturbance moves out, then we’ll get rain again,” Seto said.
Forecasters were not sure of when exactly the rain will come, but chances of rain will peak Thursday night at 50%, Seto said. About half an inch of rain is expected in coastal and valley areas, and 2 inches in mountain areas.
Moderate snow flurries are expected with the snow level at 5,500 feet.
