Re "House OKs contempt citations for Bush aides,"

The arrogant walkout by congressional Republicans shows the same contempt for Congress that the majority recognized and cited in the administration. When Congress calls you to appear, you appear. You may choose to say nothing, you may claim executive privilege, but you show up.
In issuing contempt citations against former White House Counsel Harriet E. Miers and White House Chief of Staff Joshua B. Bolten, the House has finally begun to repair the broken government that six years of one-party rule created. It is a hopeful sign that the House will return to its proper role of oversight of the conduct of the executive branch.
