Ryan Anderson had 17 points and 17 rebounds to lead California to a 69-59 victory over Oregon State on Saturday at Corvallis, Ore.

The Golden Bears improved to 11-1 against the Beavers in Corvallis under Coach Ben Braun.

Jerome Randle and Patrick Christopher added 11 points for California (11-4, 2-2 Pac-10). Marcel Jones had 12 points and Seth Tarver 11 for Oregon State (6-10, 0-4). The Beavers, who have lost six in a row, shot 32.9%.

California led by 18 in the second half. The Beavers pulled the score to 63-53 with a Tarver jump shot at 4:02, and C.J. Giles scored to get the Beavers within eight with 1:04 left.

Anderson, a 6-foot-10 sophomore forward, entered the game as the conference's leading scorer and fifth-leading rebounder at 20.9 points and 9.1 rebounds a game. He had 22 points and seven rebounds in the Golden Bears' 79-70 loss at Oregon on Thursday night.

Arizona 85, Houston 71 -- Jerryd Bayless scored a career-high 33 points and made a school-record 18 free throws in his first game back from a sprained right knee to lead the Wildcats (11-5) at Houston.

The Wildcats lost three of the four games Bayless sat out after injuring his knee during practice Dec. 28. The freshman point guard showed no ill effects, constantly driving past Houston defenders for layups or drawing fouls on the Cougars' big men.

Bayless went 18 for 20 from the free-throw line, passing the previous record of 17 free throws by Miles Simon in 1998.

Zamal Nixon scored 24 points to lead the Cougars (11-3), who had a 12-game home winning streak end.
