Update -- Chivas got off to a fast start in its opening SuperLiga contest against Pachuca, scoring in the 16th minute. After that, chances were hard to come by. Pachuca controlled the rest of the match and won, 2-1. Lance Parker made his first start in net for Chivas, replacing Bard Guzan, who agreed to a transfer with English club Aston Villa, and regular backup Dan Kennedy, who was out because of an injury. However, Kennedy practiced with the first team Tuesday. Santos Laguna enters tonight's match after losing, 1-0, to Major League Soccer East leader New England in its SuperLiga opener. Santos Laguna is led by goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez, a Mexican national team player and former member of Chivas Guadalajara, and Fernando Arce, also a member of the Mexican national team.
