Omar Arellano scored as Chivas de Guadalajara held off Houston, 1-0, Tuesday night in Group A play of the SuperLiga tournament.

A crowd of 28,723, the fourth-largest Dynamo crowd in Robertson Stadium history, saw the match.

Arellano stole the ball from Patrick Ianni in the middle of Houston's defense and fired a low line drive that got under the arm of diving goalkeeper Pat Onstad in the 71st minute.

Houston had several chances, with Franco Caraccio stopped by goalkeeper Ernesto Miche twice -- once on a point-blank shot from the left side of the goalkeeper's area in the 56th minute, and on a header from the middle in the 63rd minute.

Chivas took control of Group A with six points and will face Atlante, which has three points, in the group finale for both teams Saturday at San Jose. Houston has three points heading into a Saturday match with D.C. United in Washington.

Atlante 3, D.C. United 2 -- Luis Gabriel Rey scored two goals to lead Atlante over D.C. United in a Group A match at RFK Stadium.

Rey's goals gave Atlante a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute and made it 2-1 in the 44th minute. Gabriel Pereyra and Giancarlo Maldonado assisted on the goals.

Midfielder Christian Bermudez's high-arcing shot from 19 yards cleared the outstretched right hand of D.C. United goalkeeper Zach Wells to give Atlante a 3-1 lead in the 49th minute.

Luciano Emilio scored from 16 yards to pull D.C. United to within 3-2 in the 79th minute.
