Re "Lap dog drivers," editorial, June 12

Finally, a Times editorial I can agree with. Drivers who keep dogs on their laps show a complete lack of concern for the safety of everyone around them.

And it is not just dogs. Throw in other selfish behaviors -- driving while in a cellphone-induced trance, applying makeup, reading a newspaper spread out on the steering wheel, boomboxes that drown out emergency vehicle sirens -- and it is a wonder any of us survive on the roads.
