Recipe: Dumpling dip

Dumpling dip

Servings: Makes a scant 1 1/2 cups

Note: Add more of any ingredient to taste. Garlic-chile paste is available at well-stocked supermarkets and Asian markets.

1 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

1/4 cup dark sesame oil

2 teaspoons garlic-chile paste

Chopped cilantro to taste

Combine the soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic-chile paste and cilantro in a bowl and whisk to blend. Serve in a bowl or in individual saucers.

Each tablespoon: 31 calories; 1 gram protein; 1 gram carbohydrates; 0 fiber; 2 grams fat; 0 saturated fat; 0 cholesterol; 748 mg. sodium.
