No one was injured and officials have not identified a suspect, said Sgt. Ed Clark with the Los Angeles Police Department's Southwest Division.
About 2:10 a.m., Fire Department paramedics responded to a 911 call from the apartment complex in the 4100 block of Palmwood Drive, Clark said. When the paramedics "arrived at the scene, an unknown suspect fired numerous rounds in their direction," he said.
One of the rounds went through a bedroom window in another apartment, but no one was hurt, Clark said.
Police would not specify what evidence was recovered, but said there were witnesses.
"We set up a perimeter and did a systematic search, and are not able to locate or identify a suspect," Clark said.
