Palmdale man surrenders to police
The suspect had barricaded himself inside a house for 6 hours trying to avoid arrest, forcing LAPD to evacuate the neighborhood.
A man who barricaded himself inside a Palmdale house for more than six hours Friday surrendered to police shortly before 5 p.m.
Authorities tried to arrest the man on murder charges at his home in the 4300 block of Club Vista Drive about 10:30 a.m., but he refused to leave.
Authorities then evacuated two square blocks in the area surrounding the house and called in a SWAT team and dozens of officers.
The man's identity has not been released, but he was wanted in connection with a 2004 killing in North Hollywood, said LAPD Officer Jason Lee.
