A fatal collision on the northbound 101 Freeway at Barham Boulevard stalled traffic near the Cahuenga Pass on Thursday night and left drivers stranded for hours, inching along the freeway.
"All traffic is jammed," California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said four hours after the accident.
The crash occurred about 6:18 p.m., and paramedics who arrived about 10 minutes later reported that a truck had overturned.
A 32-year-old woman was found dead at the scene and authorities closed three lanes of the highway to collect evidence. Officials with the Los Angeles County coroner's office did not identify the woman because her next of kin had not been notified.
