Prime choices
SUNDAY
Ira Glass returns to tell more tales from off the beaten path in the second season of “This American Life.” This week’s theme is “Escape,” and if it’s anything like last season’s “Pandora’s Box” finale, it’s best not to assume what “Escape” entails.
(Showtime, 10 p.m.)
MONDAY
Someone’s coming out of the closet on “Gossip Girl.” He’s a he. He’s a regular. And he’s as cute as a button. OK, we don’t really want to help you guess. Who wants that spoiled? (The CW, 8 p.m.) Also: The season finale of “Little People, Big World.”
(TLC, 8 and 8:30 p.m.)
TUESDAY
It’s down to the final four, and only one question comes to mind: Is David Archuleta’s aw-shucks tween appeal really about to win him the title of “American Idol”? Is there no one out there who’ll vote for another? (OK, that’s more than one question …)
(Fox, 8 p.m.)
WEDNESDAY
It’s a super-sized 75-minute edition of “Top Chef.” No clues on the challenge at the center of the episode, titled “Wedding Wars,” but we’re hoping it’s not wedding cake-related, as it has been in the past. We get it: The contestants have no pastry game. Let it go already. (Bravo, 10 p.m.) Also: Chuck and Kelly get a slick new station manager on a new episode of “Back to You.”
(Fox, 8:30 p.m.)
THURSDAY
… And just like that, “30 Rock” is out of our lives (until next season) again. On the season finale, Matthew Broderick stars as Cooter, a government employee trying to help Jack get fired from his new power position in D.C. Edie Falco and Paul Scheer also guest star. (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) Also: “Scrubs” closes out its run on NBC fairy-tale style. We suspect a happily ever after (on ABC).
(NBC, 8:30 p.m.)
FRIDAY
We’re not sure how Maroon 5 is going to country themselves (and songs such as “This Love”) up, but we’re curious to hear on “Crossroads: Maroon 5 and Sara Evans,” below.Maybe she helps.
(CMT, 9 p.m.)
SATURDAY
Keep Earth Day going year-round. Get pointers on TLC’s green-themed makeover show, ”Wa$ted,” which sends a pair of eco-experts into different situations to teach couples and families about sustainability and preserving the planet.
