Washington state’s George Washington Inn
At home with George
I highly recommend the George Washington Inn on the Olympic Peninsula. It is a replica of George Washington’s Mount Vernon in Virginia, down to the last detail.
George Washington Inn, 939 Finn Hall Road, Port Angeles; (360) 452-5207, www.georgewashingtoninn.com. Suites for two from $175.

Native cuisine, updated
I was recently in Stockholm and had dinner at a very good restaurant called 1900. It serves authentic Swedish food with a modern twist. If you go to Stockholm, I recommend you try it for a local taste.
1900, 66 Regeringsgatan, Stockholm; 011-46-8-20-60-10, www.r1900.se. Dinners from about $30.
