at Pittsburgh 3, San Francisco 1: Xavier Nady hit a two-run homer to spoil Barry Zito's mostly effective return to the Giants rotation and Phil Dumatrait pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings for his first career win.

at Florida 6, Milwaukee 2: Rookie Burke Badenhop pitched 5 2/3 innings for his first major league victory and the Brewers lost their fifth game in a row. It's their longest losing streak this season and dropped them below .500 for the first time.

at Houston 4, Washington 3: Carlos Lee singled to center field to drive in Kaz Matsui with the winning run in the ninth inning. Ryan Zimmerman had two homers for the Nationals.

at Atlanta 5, San Diego 2: Pinch-hitter Greg Norton drove in Brian McCann with a bases-leaded single in the seventh inning to end a 2-2 tie.

at Colorado 4, St. Louis 3: Chris Iannetta tripled home two runs against Jason Isringhausen to cap a four-run eighth inning. After getting only four hits against Adam Wainwright in seven innings, the Rockies rallied to win for only the fourth time in 17 games.

New York 12, at Dodgers 1: Brad Penny yielded 10 runs, the most in his 236 major league starts.
