Fire on Mt. Baldy in Angeles National Forest burns 30 acres
Firefighters are struggling to control a 30-acre wildfire this morning that erupted on Mt. Baldy in the Angeles National Forest.
The Big Horn Fire was reported at about 4:30 in the Bear Flat area about 45 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, said Sherry Rollman, spokeswoman for the national forest.
With winds of 15 to 20 mph gusting up to 60 mph in the area, about 60 firefighters had not brought the blaze under control as of about 8 a.m., Rollman said.
Rollman said no structures were threatened by the fire and no evacuations had been reported. The cause is still under investigation, she said.
