Keith England The images on England’s website – well-groomed suit-and-tie photos contrasting with casual, leather and long-hair shots – clearly describe the duality of his career, which reaches from youthful gigs with the Allman Brothers to his current commitment to jazz. Wayne Krantz You want a guitar hero? If Hendrix were reborn with a mischievous Ornette Coleman sense of syncopation and melody, beautifully dense cluster chords worthy of Romanian composer Gyôrgy Ligeti, and an almost excruciating sonic intensity, you’d have the unbelievable Krantz. (C.D.) Temple Bar, 1026 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica. Wed., 8 p.m. $10. (310) 393-6611. Also at Baked Potato, 3787 Cahuenga Blvd. West, North Hollywood. Fri.-Sat. $25. (818) 980-1615.
Stanley Jordan Trio The jazz master of the tapping guitar style returns after a lengthy hiatus of self-described inner journeying. (D.H.) Catalina Bar & Grill, 6725 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood. Thu.-Sat. $18-$25. (323) 466-2210.
