One dead, one injured in Crenshaw shooting

Two suspects are being sought. Three men were standing in a garage behind an apartment building when they were fired upon.

Police in the Crenshaw area are looking for two suspects in a shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

Shots were fired at John Donnell, Timothy Jones and another male about 9:15 p.m. Sunday as they were standing in a detached garage behind an apartment building in the 4000 block of South Muirfield Road, said Sara Faden, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The gunshots were fired into the garage from a nearby alley, Faden said.

Donnell, 43, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso and left leg, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones, 18, was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition was unknown, Faden said. The third man was not injured.

Police have not released a description of the two male suspects.
