Debt and responsibility

November 09, 2008

A Business Briefing item, "U.S. to borrow $550 Billion" (Nov. 4), said, "Major Wall Street bond traders estimate that the government's borrowing needs for the year will total an unprecedented $1.4 trillion."

By the time President-elect Obama takes office, it will be too late. The country will already be bankrupt. The Bush administration and the Congress got us into this fix, and we are depending on them to straighten it out. Doesn't that fit the definition of insanity?

Is it any wonder that the voters turned out in record numbers and showed their disgust with the people in Washington?
