Police investigate three separate Westside home robberies
The incidents are unrelated, police say, but all involved confrontations with people in the homes.
Police are investigating three separate home invasion robberies on the Westside, including one in which the victims were tied up with duct tape and others were held hostage.
None of the incidents were related, authorities said.
At about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, three men broke into a home in the 1500 block of Glenavon Avenue near Lake Street and tied up two people while holding three others hostage, police said. The robbers demanded money and drugs, but they left with a cellphone when their demands were not met.
In an earlier incident in West Los Angeles, a man was hospitalized after someone broke into his home in the 600 block of North Gower Street. Los Angeles Police Department officials had no further details about the incident.
Then, about 1:30 a.m. today, someone broke into a home in the 3000 block of Queensbury drive near Kilrenny Avenue in Cheviot Hills. A 13-year-old girl inside woke up and was confronted by the robber, said Det. David McGill of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The girl gave the intruder some money, and he left the house. The girl's parents were sleeping during the incident, police said.
